Terms & Conditions
Maru B2B Solutions — Business Directory & Lead Generation Service
Last updated: 30 September 2026
These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Maru B2B Solutions platform ("the Platform"), operated by Maru Automated Systems and powered by Maru Tech Cafe, at b2b.marutechcafe.co.za. By registering, listing a business, subscribing to a plan, or using the Platform in any way, you agree to these terms.
1. The Service
The Platform provides South African SMMEs with business registration support, a public business directory, lead generation plans, and promote-to-earn tools. Leads are generated exclusively from voluntary participation: businesses that register and publish a listing, and individuals who submit enquiries to listed businesses through the directory. The Platform does not purchase third-party lead lists, does not scrape or harvest data from external sources, and does not resell personal information.
2. Lead Generation Plans
Lead plans are billed monthly in advance, renew automatically until cancelled, and may be cancelled at any time with effect from the end of the paid period. Plan details are published on the pricing page:
- Free — R0/month, 2 leads/month, basic email alerts, manual lead viewing.
- Starter — R99/month, 10 leads/month, email alerts, category filtering, weekly digest.
- Pro — R299/month, 50 leads/month, email + SMS alerts, multi-category and regional filtering, priority support.
- Enterprise — R599/month, unlimited leads, API access, dedicated account manager, custom lead sourcing.
The Platform commits to delivering the monthly lead quota of the selected plan. If a paid plan's quota is not delivered within a billing month, the subscriber is entitled to a pro-rata credit or refund for that month on request.
3. Directory Listings
Businesses may enhance their directory presence with optional listing tiers: Basic (free), Featured (R150 once-off, priority placement), and Verified (R300 once-off, verified badge). Listing tiers affect visibility and trust markers only; they do not alter the lead quota of a subscription plan.
4. Acceptable Use
- Leads must be used for legitimate business communication with the enquirer.
- Leads may not be resold, published, or used for unsolicited bulk communication.
- Listings and promotional campaigns must be lawful, accurately describe the business, and comply with South African consumer protection law.
- Subscribers must keep their account and contact details accurate and up to date.
5. Privacy and Data Protection
The Platform processes personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), No. 4 of 2013. Information is collected directly from the data subject for the purpose for which it was provided, and is used only for that purpose: delivering enquiries to the relevant business and allowing that business to respond. Personal information is not sold, rented, or disclosed to third parties outside the delivery of an enquiry to the business the enquirer chose to contact. Data subjects may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their information at any time via the support channel below, and such requests are actioned promptly.
6. Refund Policy
Subscription payments are refundable or creditable on a pro-rata basis for a billing month in which the Platform failed to deliver the paid plan's lead quota, on written request. Once-off registration and listing fees are non-refundable once the relevant service has been initiated, except where the service could not be delivered. Cancellation of a subscription does not entitle the subscriber to a refund for the already-paid current period unless the quota-delivery condition above applies.
7. No Guarantees
Beyond delivery of the monthly lead quota, the Platform makes no guarantees regarding lead quality, sales conversions, revenue, or specific business opportunities. Leads are provided as they arise from voluntary listings and enquiries, and the outcome of any business interaction is between the subscriber and the enquirer.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Platform's total liability arising from or in connection with these terms is limited to the amount paid by the subscriber for the relevant billing period. The Platform is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit or business opportunity.
9. Amendments
The Platform may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to subscribers by email or via the Platform. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
